PRIVACY POLICY
ComputerTree respects your privacy. We believe that all people have the unalienable right to choose when, and in what manner, and to what extent, to share their personal information. Modern technology, unfortunately, is inclined to ignore that right. To the extent that ComputerTree can prevent the unnecessary collection of data, we do so. And to the extent that we cannot prevent it, we do our best to clearly indicate where it's happening.
The Public Web Pages Of www.computertree.com
The web server software which publishes www.computertree.com does accumulate statistical data so that, for example, we may know how popular one particular web page is in relation to others on our site, or to get a general sense of which geographic areas most frequently visit our site. However, when you browse the public pages of www.computertree.com and navigate from page to page, we make no attempt to associate those page choices with you personally.
The Employee Purchase Plan Webstore
Some of our larger corporate clients allow their employees to participate in the volume discount pricing they receive from ComputerTree. If you are such an employee, when you register at our webstore, we record your billing and shipping information so that we may deliver your purchases to you. The webstore software may write one or more cookies into your browser's cache for the purpose of maintaining the shopping cart's contents and for more readily recognizing you on future visits.
The webstore software uses industry-standard https security protocol to communicate with your web browser and with our credit card processor for online sales transactions. All transactions are processed using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt the transmission of your name, credit card number, address, etc.
We Treat Your Information As We Would Our Own
ComputerTree does not sell your information to others for any reason, nor do we give your information to others except in specific cases in which you will have prior opportunity to approve/refuse.
For example, when you place an order through our corporate Employee Purchase Plan webstore, we credit the value of your purchase to the total volume of business done through us by your employer. Depending on your employer's particular plan arrangements, we may provide your employer more information such as a list of the items you purchase. For more precise details, please consult the terms and conditions declared by your employer.
For another example, when you sign up for our newsletter or otherwise email us, naturally we record your email address so that we may reply to you. Under no circumstance will we pass along your email address to junk mailers. We have no use for them either.
The Apple iTunes AppStore
When you choose to browse to the Apple iTunes AppStore from links on our website, the affiliate website which makes the connection may store one or more cookies on your equipment. Subsequently, the AppStore website may do so as well. More than this we cannot say because, at this point, you will have moved beyond the borders of ComputerTree. Please consult the privacy policies of LinkShare and Apple.
Facebook, Blog, And Other Community Sites
ComputerTree maintains a presence in several social media systems including Facebook. Because these sites are located on equipment outside ComputerTree's sphere of influence, the privacy policies declared by those sites apply.
In-Person Sales, Service & Training
When you visit our retail shops, service locations, or training facilities, we are committed to collecting no more information than is absolutely necessary to complete the sale or repair or class. Mind you, it is probable that your presence will be recorded on security cameras. However, no attempt will be made to personally identify anyone in such recordings... except, naturally, in the course of investigating, for example, a robbery.
When personnel from ComputerTree visit your facilities, whether for sales or service or training, the same policy of respect for your privacy remains in force. We regularly enter into written nondisclosure agreements with corporate customers, but we are committed to comporting ourselves with the same high degree of discretion in all our engagements.

This policy statement relates only to those areas of ComputerTree which are encountered by our customers in the normal course of doing business.
